Funky Monkey Tents are a small business who are true advocates of supporting other like-minded businesses. They approached us to design a custom sign for their unit and it looks fantastic against their wooden barn back drop.

This was a simple commission that involved taking the design of their logo and transforming it into a 5mm thick Corten steel sign with the use of CAD. Hand crafted to size; the sign is a great example of the sort of projects we undertake.

Bespoke Corten Steel Signage

 

We can design and produce metal signage to suit any style or location, bringing your ideas to life or developing a concept for you from scratch.

 

Our in-house designers will conceptualise your project. You will be able to see your metal signage design drafted up in detailed CAD drawings before we start. Then our experienced craftsmen will then fabricate and finish the project in our workshop.

 

We craft pieces to a high specification using a variety of techniques. These include both traditional and modern using the latest plasma-cutting technologies.

We deliver our Corten steel signage semi-weathered. All of our work is made from 5mm thick Mill Test Certified (MTC) steel.

 

Why Corten Steel?

 

Corten steel signs offer an industrial or rustic style effect and can really pop against the right back drop. 

 

Cor-Ten is a brand name for steel alloys which were developed to be weather-proof even without paint. Other names it goes by include ‘weathering steel’, ‘rusty steel’ and ‘Corten’.

 

Corten or weathering steel, organically adapts to its environment, producing a vibrant orange patina, which not only protects the steel but creates a stunning finish. Not only will your design be unique but also the way it weathers too.

 

Rather than rusting entirely, the surface transforms over time in a consistent way that prevents further corrosion. Weathered steel offers an appealing and stable rusted finish, lending itself brilliantly to the creation of customised rustic signage.
