Bespoke Corten Steel Garden Features in Shangton

Having previously worked with garden designer, Rebecca Winship and landscape gardener, Richard Palmer on other projects using Corten steel, the garden design team knew it was the material they wanted to use to create bespoke elements in their latest project, a newly built house with a blank canvas for garden design in Shangton, Leicestershire.

The client’s brief was to create a garden that was an extension of their home. We helped bring the brief to life with Corten steps, retaining walls, planters and the base surround for a focal water feature.

Both Rebecca and Richard knew that Corten steel would create a contemporary feel to complement the style and design of the house. The project began with a site visit for essential measurements and surveying and we worked together to create the overall designs. Back at our Leicestershire workshop, we created the elements in 3D CAD, to help the client visualise the final pieces. Once the designs were honed we set to work handcrafting the unique elements and finally installing them in the garden.

Bespoke Projects

Based on your brief, we can create bespoke signage to suit any style or location, or we can develop your ideas into a finished work of art.

Our in-house designers will conceptualise your design via detailed CAD drawings before we start. Our experienced craftsmen will then create and finish the project in our rural workshop.

We craft all our pieces to a high specification using a variety of techniques, both traditional and modern. We also use the latest plasma-cutting technologies.

Why Corten Steel?

Corten steel offers an industrial, rustic-style effect that pops against any backdrop.

Cor-Ten is a brand name for steel alloys which were developed to be weather-proof, even without paint. It’s also referred to as ‘weathering steel’, ‘rusty steel’ and ‘Corten’.

The material organically adapts to its environment, producing a vibrant orange patina. This not only protects the steel but creates a stunning finish. Weathered steel is suitably stable. Rather than rusting entirely, the surface transforms over time in a consistent way that prevents further corrosion. The way it weathers will be as unique and attractive as your design.
