What forms of payment do you accept?

There are 3 main ways to pay:

1. We accept all major debit and credit cards online. Choosing this option will direct you through to PayPal,  however a PayPal account is not required when paying by credit card.
2. We accept payment via PayPal.
3. Klarna available at checkout

How does Corten steel weather?

What does weathering of steel mean?

Corten is an extremely durable steel. It gets stronger with age, which means it’s perfect for the great British climate! It begins life looking like steel as we know and love. Over time it organically adapts to its environment, developing a beautiful burnt orange patina that works to protect the metal. 

Care and maintenance

Corten is a very low maintenance material meaning you can sit back and relax whilst your piece naturally adapts to its surroundings. During the initial weathering phase there may be a run off of colour which can stain. We advise you to place your product on a protected surface during the initial stage of weathering.

Sign letter bracing

As a result of the need for bracing certain letters, the lettering shown on your final sign may vary slightly to the online example. This is for letters which do not naturally have a brace which stops the middle of the letter falling through when cut. The letters this refers to are a, b, d, e, g, o, p and q. This will not affect the aesthetics of your sign.

Sign fixing options

When you order an Arthur Francis bespoke sign, we offer various sign fixing options to making hanging your new piece easier. These are:

1. Screw holes to screw flush to the wall – at no additional cost.
2. Bolts and spacers. Bolt heads are visible on the front face of the sign. These then pass through a spacer which allows the sign to stand away from the wall an inch or two – charged at an extra £10.00 per sign.
3. Welded stainless steel rods to the back face of the sign so no fixings are visible on the front face. These can then glued into the wall – rods are charged at an extra £15.00 per sign.

Lead times

We make all our pieces by hand, to order at our workshop in Leicestershire, so our lead times vary according to the size of the product and complexity of the design. We’ll give you an indication of the lead time when you place your order or discuss a project. We are flexible so if you have a date in mind we will do our very best to meet it.

Returns and refunds

We are a family run business, handcrafting each of our pieces to order, to the highest quality, However, if you have any concerns about your product please get in touch with us. We offer a five year warranty with all our products as standard. We do not offer refunds as each of our products are one of a kind and handcrafted to order.

All standard items available to purchase on the Arthur Francis online shop include FREE delivery to mainland UK, excluding Northern Ireland. For prices including delivery on bespoke items, and on standard items delivered to the rest of the UK  and the rest of the world please get in touch.
